ABOUT EMILIE KAPLUN
Jewellery
design has always been a passion for me, and I am happy to be following
my dream. I believe that personal ornamentation is a form of self-expression,
and feel that all of my pieces contain a spirit within them. I enjoy using
a variety of materials, and have collected and created beads during my
travels. Each piece of jewellery is original, and I have created separate
collections for different reflections of moods.
I have sold my jewellery in various stores throughout Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Nova Scotia and Washington State and my business continues to evolve. I have dedicated time to promoting my work through art shows, and my designs now comprise a full-time business.
My education and experience is quite diverse. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University in Interdisciplinary Studies. The creative arts courses I have taken, including pottery, metalwork, glass-bead making, painting and drawing, have all influenced my jewellery designs. I have studied Art Therapy through courses and reading, and believe there is a strong link between creativity and healing.
